SAE-MIT Reunion 2012
Reunion in Santa Fe
The La Fonda Hotel, located on the Plaza in downtown Santa Fe, was our basecamp
for shopping, eating, drinking, and laughing. And for sidetrips (see below).
Bandelier National Monument
A large kiva, pueblo ruins, and some cliff dwellings
are found along a one-and-a-half mile main loop trail from the visitor center.
Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument
"Kasha-Katuwe" means "white cliffs". This national monument contains
some of the strangest rock formations found anywhere, sculpted by wind and water
from six-million-year-old volcanic deposits of pumice, ash, and tuff.
The Taos Pueblo
Guided tours are available through the living pueblo,
and you can freely visit with native artisans at work in their shops.
